So, I want to SBR one of these EVO's (pistol or carbine), but I was told that a barrel replacement is essentially impossible on the carbine, that the barrel is fixed and would take some serious hacking/smithing to even replace it. Or would have to be chopped and threaded.

Is it true that a drop in barrel isn't an option on the carbine?

Don't know. I have the carbine, but I plan on leaving it that way.

It would probably be best to start with the pistol if you want to SBR it. You wouldn't have to purchase an extra barrel or pay someone to cut it down.
