so last week I traveled down to NC to help my aunt settle my late uncle's possessions. He was a woodworker and shooter. We were able to settle most of his things. He was a favorite uncle, I wanted something from his estate to remember him by, so I am in the process of purchasing/transferring 2 of his Taurus revolvers... 22 mag with 6.5" barrel, and a 44mag with 4" barrel.

I don't own any Taurus or know much about them, I know they get a bad rap, but they seem solid. the 22mag is an earlier model (991 ?) without the22lr convertible cylinder, it's 22mag only which is fine w/me. the 44 is ported, I can't imagine ever shooting it without ear protection if i don't want to go deaf(er). I have a couple other 44's but with longer barrels, so anxious to see how this one shoots.

will post a pic once I get the transfer finalized and in my hands.

A friend of my late Best Friend and #1 Shooting and Handloading Partner , had a 4 inch Tracker in .41 Magnum. I had the chance to inspect and dry fire it , and the friend of friend is one of the small handful that I trusted his range and chrono results .

While no its not the fit and finish of a vintage S&W N Frame , the Trackers are better than typical Tauri , and most individual examples would be plenty sufficient for the intended purposes .

Good Factor - The 4 inch Big Bore Magnum Trackers are a very close approximation of smallest/ lightest * practical * Magnum revolvers that start with a "4" .

Not obvious Factor - The cylinder length is sized to Exactly fit SAAMI COL cartridges. For some people that's a non-issue , but the Friend of Friend ultimately traded it because of that . He primarily loaded his Cast Keith bullets in all his .41's , and didn't want to cast different bullets just for one gun .
