I thought MD Law says Federal Parks like Assateague were no carry, just like the State portion, No?
    NO.
A State CANNOT dictate what happens on US Government property.
If you have a carry permit, you can carry in any Federal Park in Maryland, you just can't enter any of the posted buildings.

To an extent. To split hairs, federal regulations state that they follow states laws and regulations on carry.

State law could ban carry in ANY park, and in that case, the federal park manager is going to prohibit carry in the park. Maryland state law simply prohibits carry only in Maryland state parks. They are mum on federal, county, city, and private parks.

A few states do ban carry in ANY park, and federal park managers in those states ban carry in their parks.

Federal law could simply say FU state, we don't care what your laws are on our land. But it often doesn't. Sometimes it does.
