I will be moving to PA shortly, from Maryland. I believe, in Maryland, a CCW permit also allows for the concealed carry of, for example, a fixed blade knife in a shoulder sheath, ordinarily a no-no in Maryland. It appears to me that PA’s concealed carry laws are directed to firearms.

What are the laws governing carry of a concealed, fixed blade knife in PA? I’m confused as to what is meant by “lawful purpose”. And yes, this is more for my idle curiosity than anything; I’ve been trying to familiarize myself with the laws there regarding carrying and the question popped up.

Good questions, and as far as I understand it, everything you said is correct (re: Maryland ok with carrying a large/concealed fixed knife if you have a permit). Take a look at this firsthttps://handgunlaw.us/states/pennsylvania.pdf
