Chronographed some reloads, yesterday. I was expecting closer velocities. Am I being too picky?
Here's the results: out of a Lone Wolf (4.5")40-9 conversion barrel in my Glock 22
Did some factory Remington UMC 115 gr. FMJ first
1061fps,1112,1059,1069,1076,1080,1077,1084,1042,1024,1088,1048,1068,1028,1062,1096,1073,1068,1076,1082
then my reloads(I'm pretty new to reloading, only a few months)
9mm fmj 115gr bullet, 1.142 OAL, found a big jug of IMR SR4756 in PA a few months back when it was hard to find anything.
5.8 grains 4756
1073,1028,1047,1040,1127,1037,1057,1109,1146,1129,1111,1085,1103,1078,1063,1035,1036,1095,1044,1035,1006,1048
6.2
1176,1135,1093,1119,1128,1122,1131,1145,1138

and then some 357 sig 125 grain lead flat nose, out of a 6" lone wolf 357sig barrel (I originally bought it to try to see if I could hunt deer with it)
7.9 grains 4756 1.14 OAL
1353,1388,1392,1372,1424,1352,1382,1385,1380
8.3 grains 4756
1456,1467,1475,1458,1472
8.6
1505,1529,1505,1519,1533
8.9
1555,1552,1572,1558,1524
I was happy with the velocity of the 357sig, maybe just a little faster so I could theoretically hunt deer with it. No signs of overpressurization on any of the brass. Are the 9mm velocities typical, or should I expect the velocities to be closer together?
