I have the smaller case i believe and I've carried more in for other uses. I'll lend you mine, unless you are wanting one yourself.

I just use the factory glock plastic case with a master key lock. I cut an ammo box in half and store what I need for the trip in the box inside of the locked gun case. Used this setup several times now with no issues.

I used a rolling hardside case with 2 large non TSA locks. The smaller the case the easier it could walk off. That's just my thinking.

If this is a one time trip and you want to borrow my case let me know. It's not as nice as a pelican but it fit the budget.

this small stack-on case is my case to bring my carry gun when flying. It locks with a key and you can cable-lock it to your luggage. It is much lighter and smaller than most gun-cases...taking up much less room in your checked bag, and not eating up your pound allowance. I've flown with it a few times and it's been great.

Good plan when flying with guns...
Make 2 copies of TSA regulations as well as 2 copies of airline regulations.
I put 1 in the case with the guns and keep 1 with me.
That way if I come across an uneducated TSA, or airline agent I have their policies with me for them.
I have heard of people missing flights waiting for a supervisor to tell them all is well.
Hasn't been necessary for me yet but I'd rather have and not need than need and not have.

I use a 1470 case locked with non-tsa locks. The comaprment in the luggage where it sits is locked with a TSA lock. The 1470 will fit 2 semi autos and about eight mags.

    +1

Dan from GC sold me this and I like it primarily because of the cable lock. They would have to steal the whole suitcase to take the firearm box as well.

Thanks I was thinking about getting one for a gift as I dont need it right away

An additional safeguard from TSA thieves is to use a cable and lock to connect your hard case to the handle tubes in your luggage. The handgun and suitcase have to go together.

    Good thread here.

Rather detailed , I thought you had to have a separate case that didn't go inside the luggage but I can see now why something slimmer would be more beneficial.

    I have a Gunvault Microvault

Holds 2 pistols and a couple mags. You can buy a large case and put your clothes in it too. You can lock that with non TSA locks. I used to send broadcast equipment this way. No one can break in and it's legal.

I recently flew with just my glock. I put it in my SIG p226 case (sacrilege I know :D), double locked it, and then used an old handgun cable lock I had lying around (yes I actually found a use for those things!) to lock the case to the inside handle tubes of my largest suit case. Then I just got the biggest non TSA lock that would fit in my suit cases zipper pull. I didnt have to buy anything new except a $5 luggage lock.

All of the pelican cases are pretty nice. Occasionally they show up on craigslist at pretty good prices.

I use a four pistol aluminum airline case. I also put it inside a slightly larger suitcase to keep it inconspicuous. A few years back the first flight of my trip to the Masters tourament was dalayed and my guns flew on without me. The airline was good and had our luggage in their office, not the hallway when we got to the end destination.
