I saw this video on YouTube the other day, and thought I’d share it with you guys. Alignment rods from suppressor manufacturers, are ridiculously expensive. These rods from McMaster-Carr seem to be a damn good alternative. I just ordered the (near) .22 cal and the (near) .30 cal. The 3’ rods were under $8 apiece, so if they suck, no biggie. Anyway, here’s the video:

A few years ago a member got some of these in bulk and cut them in three parts splitting them with members here. They work well. It's stupid how expensive these gauges are from firearm retailers.

I bought the .22 and .30. They’re perfectly straight, and worked perfectly. I think I spent under $30, shipped

My son is an electrical engineer, and he tells me that McMaster-Carr is dead serious about the specs on their products. If they say the rods are true to plus or minus some minuscule amount, you can count on it. They use that supplier for serious DoD projects.

A little piece of mind, for suppressed rifles, for sure

That was me. :D They do work well, the only strike I have had is when shooting 300 BO through my Paladin 300 with the .22 front cap installed. :o

Thanks for this. I ordered my 1st silencer last week. I was looking at brand name rods on line and couldn’t believe the cost. I ordered a couple from McMaster Carr in the under .223 range. If one doesn’t fit it only cost me 7 bucks to try.

 Don’t worry, mine were perfectly straight. Yours should be as well
