We are going to D.C. tomorrow evening for a fancy beer and food pairing event. Wishing it was somewhere else, but... like moths to a flame

Anyway, the "official" event hotel where we are staying for the night is 2 miles from the event venue (a cool looking place called The Anthem), which means getting a ride from the hotel to there and back. It's annoying that neither the event nor the hotel have shuttle busses arranged, so we're on our own for transport between the two places.

If anyone has recent experiences with the various ride services in D.C., whether it's Uber, Lyft, taxis, or something else, I'd appreciate knowing your experiences.

I actually find DC taxi cabs to be better than most places. They're also usually easy to flag down.

Well, so much for today's trip into D.C. We are ecstatic about today's SCOTUS ruling, but our hotel is just a few blocks from the SCOTUS courthouse. With all the protests going on right now, and bound to get worse tonight, getting into and around D.C. between the hotel and venue, will be a sh!tshow. So we'll stay home and have our own beer and food event.

I would likely have chosen the same. AND YET more reasons our CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS have been infringed. Not even safe to go to the People's City unless you are a card carrying Libtard in office.
