Some of the worse places you can't carry, logic is strong with the leftist
Makes sense from their perspective, though. Gun bans are driven by the Antis' fears, so why would they not try to apply them to the most threatening places?

order .Order Mon 11/21 5:15 PM
MINUTE ORDER: The parties' briefing on Plaintiffs' motion for preliminary injunction, Dkt.6 , raises a substantial question about whether Plaintiffs have standing to bring this challenge in light of the D.C. Circuit's decisions in Parker v. District of Columbia , 478 F.3d 370 (D.C. Cir. 2007) and Seegars v. Gonzales , 396 F.3d 1248 (D.C. Cir. 2005). The motion hearing scheduled in this matter for December 12, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. will, accordingly, focus on the threshold jurisdictional question of standing, including whether Plaintiffs have shown a likelihood of success with respect to standing and whether the Court should dismiss the action for lack of jurisdiction. If necessary, the Court will schedule a further hearing to address whether Plaintiffs have shown that they are likely to succeed on the merits of their constitutional challenge and, if so, whether they are entitled to preliminary relief. Signed by Judge Randolph D. Moss on 11/21/2022. (lcrdm3)

The prohibition of firearms on Metro is a DC statute not a Metro reg .I have been told but have no proof that Metro asked DC to include them in the list of prohibited locations.

So glad the little thugs read and obey laws.

Mr Heller will be along shortly to straighten DC out like he did with the carry ammo limit

DC asked Metro for input about carrying. Metro asked DC to include them as a restricted place.
Who knows how or who at WMATA made that decision. Metro as an entity is exempt from DC laws.
Maybe we could find someone in Metro legal office to look up the details of how it happened.

Metro may have asked DC for the inclusion in the DC law. DC acquiesced without considering the legal ramifications. The govt made the law.

    Let them defend it

It is my understanding that for the current lawsuit DC asked WMATA to help defend the status quo and WMATA told them NFW, this is all you guys.

I believe WMATA would have a difficult time explaining their advocacy for such restrictions in one jurisdiction (DC) and not advocating for similar restrictions in adjacent jurisdictions (MD & VA). I believe they wisely chose to stay out of the (lost cause) battle.

Amtrak is quasi government and they do have their own police department.

So is Metro (WMATA) , but that's not the important factor .

AMTRAK , and passenger rail generally , are Common Carriers , regulated similar to Airlines . So firearms checked in baggage , etc .

For ( wheeled highway passenger vehicles ) same distinction for Greyhound vs city or commuter busses .
