I suspect upon receipt the BATF submits for background checks to the FBI and then batches everyone that comes back clean from the FBI for processing once a month. As such it seems to range from 2 weeks to just under 2 months with a one month average, all depending on when you submit and how busy the FBI is.

I'm at a 35 days now since I submitted... Was charged approximately 1 week after submittal.

funny that I posted this morning... I just got mine in the mail today. So wait time for me was 35 days

Mine took almost exactly one month. And ditto on the poor house comment - it's amazing how much on an aficionado one can turn into when firearms are delivered to your door rather than going through an FFL.
