    About an hour away
    Great place
    Great people
... SARCO used to have a policy of no handgun sales of any kind to MD (C&R or modern) either shipped or in person.
This notice was on a Star B (C&R) so I guess that's still true. Check first before making that visit :)

Now I want a 1911 carbine conversion kit.

Not if you've actually had one or tried to shoot one... not to be Debbie Downer :)
Not sure if the "special mainspring housing" is nylon like the one I had, but the whole thing was a rickety mess. The stock attachment isn't very solid, the barrel didn't fit right or tight - I maybe could have fiddled with it to get it better but it wasn't worth the effort. Not an optical illusion, the barrel droops about 10 deg relative to the pistol centerline. It's really unweildy / unbalanced. But for $150 maybe it's worth a shot that it'll work for you, mine was an older kit (and no holster) but looks like the same design and mounting hardware.
Not being facetious, a HiPoint 4595 carbine is more fun! (and probably more accurate).

But that's just, like, my opinion man...
