I stopped at Chesapeake City and walked down the causeway til I saw a pier and two guys were fishing.One guy pulled in about a 7lb catfish.He also had 4 and 5 lb ones in a sack.I plan on being up that way for the goose/dove opener and now might plan on some catfishing the canal while Im up there.Any advice for places/tactics?.I plan on using cut bluegill for bait.

honestly, you can use hotdogs if you wanted to. They're all along the canal, typically in the holes. Bigger isn't always better as the catfish is a bottom feeder and you don't want to know what it has ate if you going to keep and cook them. Delaware's PCB's are off the charts.

I saw the advisory.ONE meal per YEAR for rockfish,white perch and cats....id rather eat the hotdog.Thanks tho
