Just got this one and the gun arrived DOA. The safety was stuck in the lock position making the gun completely inoperable.
I called Amazon and they gave me a refund (thanks!) since they didn't accept returns. They told me to keep the gun...
After getting my refund, I put on my Bubba hat to see if I could figure out what was wrong.
I pounded on the safety with a stout plastic punch and whoa! - the safety loosened up and the gun was working -- almost!??
I can pull the hammer and trigger now and reengage the safety, but the cylinder rotates in BOTH directions even with the safety ON.
    Is this normal?

Also, I loaded it up with CO2 and pellets and the dern thing shoots very well at 7 yds!!, but the trigger is very gritty. Don't know how long this gun will hold up, but I'm on the plus side with the refund.

I'm jealous. A gun for free is a win. I've purchased many of airguns with claims that there's nothing wrong. There's always something wrong so I just fix it. As for the trigger it should smooth out some with use or you could always polish the hammer sear.

Update: The gun died today - cylinder doesn't rotate.
Buyng another is risky. I may take up gunsmithing if parts are available for these?

Doing a little research, I notice that there are two (at least) variations with the ASG/Dan Wesson models.
I believe the 2.5 inch pellet model I originally bought is the older version as it is not designated as the "715" model.
ASG doesn't offer parts or repair, so looks like home smithing is a no-go.
Replaced the first gun with the 715 version and there is a noticeable difference (better) in the action and build quality.
