I submitted my application on Friday, 2/10.
DD-214 should have exempted me from HQL and WC classes. My application has not yet been "accepted" as of 2/16.

Edit: My application was "accepted" shortly after posting this (2/16).
ETA: I was "not disapproved" on 3/30/2023.

2 weeks for HQL is bull. I’m a week in after getting my HGP waiting for my HQL when I applied for it the same day my HGP was approved. Wish I just did my fingerprints while I was waiting

Yep, bull is one way of putting it. Called a nice lady in Pikesville who looked it up and made sure that it was in, and it was. Magically appeared the next day. Oh, and my daughters took 2 weeks as well, she also applied "Permit Exempt" after the W&C or HGP or whatever they're calling it this week. Not sure why they don't just give you one with the permit, since they've done this forensic 2 month check into my background, they should know that I don't have one. Hoping that one day someone will wise up and make the permit suffice at purchase.

No, no one is going to change the process; it's doing exactly what it was meant to do, making it a more difficult, time-consuming, and hopefully expensive process to acquire a firearm.

After 15 years on this site, this shouldn't be a surprise.

Mine has been sitting at accepted since 3/3/23, I wonder why the holdup compared to everyone else. Seems like everyone gets the NICS assigned a few days after accepted.

Currently it is taking about 40 to 45 days from your accepted date until you get approved then add another week to get the card in the mail. Look at the average time people are reporting for acceptance to approval and be sure you use a large enough sample, of course YMMV.

Are you looking at your application for your NICS? They do not notify you but getting NICS is not a good indicator of progress because some people get multiple NICS and others only get it just before approval.
