Anyone know a current source for good, modern shoulder straps for a Large ALICE pack on an ALICE (not Molle) frame?
I'm looking for something with a QR strap & more padding than the Milsurp & with a Sternum strap.
If anyone had the real skinny on adapting the Molle 2 from experience that will do me to.
Preferably not a hunnrett dollahs or up.:toothless
All I seem to be able to find currently is Molle 2 & there's some compatibility issues I'm not real thrilled with, particularly with the top attachment to the frame.
I have the pack, the frame & the modern waist belt/kidney pad.
    TIA.

Google fu looks like Tactical Tailor makes exactly what you want, but for $70+ I’d learn to live with the USGI version or switch packs. :)

Yep. I've got TT straps and belt on a large ALICE rig. Much more comfortable with heavier loads than OEM, spreads the weight better. I don't remember them being that expensive, but they do make decent stuff and it's been 10 years or more since I bought them.

I just bought a TT pack from a member here. Quality is excellent and that's coming from someone who ran (and liked) Eberlestock gunslinger two packs. For gun transport, I'd probably go for the Eberlestock with a frame but with 50lbs of random crap stuffed in the TT EROP, my sorry ass managed to do a ruck without pain. I'm sold.

TT is (to me) to the top for $$ pricewise unless its the only option.:shocked3:
I have a set of Blackhawk ones on the medium & was hoping to get another for the Large, but a lot of the stuff I was familiar with has vanished. Thanks
I'll keep looking as the Molle-2 seems to be a bit of a bodger's nightmare at the top. With the folding & all the straps needed to work well with the ALICE.
The Eberlestock looks like a great candidate if it can fit, Thanks I'll give them a call.

Shameless plug, the f52 jackhammer from Eberlestock is a tank of a pack and the member I bought my TT EROP from may still have one for sale cheap. I think it was in the classified ads for 160. Think of it as a modern alice.

    No problem.
I have the pack, frame, waist belt & a bunch of other stuff. All I need to figure out is the straps & that's not desperately urgent as I have a set of the LC-2 enhanced ones here. If someone else wants to grab a nice kit go for it I won't mind.
After doing a lot of Web Surfing I went with a Molle 2 set. There seems to be 3 or 4 different ways of using them with the ALICE packs & frames.
Small note to anyone else doing this, you DO need the load lifters for a Medium ALICE, but NOT with a Large. They won't fit anyway as the metal rings aren't fitted.

    FYI:
Yes, you can make a "hellcat" pack mod with Molle 2 straps!
(just needs a little creativity & some Paracord.)
