Anyone know of a place that repairs airsoft gun around the central MD area? I have an AK47 airsoft rifle, and the buttstock is broken. I am not sure the brand, as I bought it second hand. Might need a battery pack too. I am not really into airsoft hardcore, so I didn't know if there was some well known place. Thanks.

Airarms Sports in Frederick may be able to help. The last time i was there with my son the guy working there had one apart that he was working on.

Do you have a picture of the area that's broken? I might be able to help somehow.
I guess I also need a rear sight. But, the buttstock contains the battery and the cover is broken off. Not to mention the stock has some tacky, gummy coating on it. I can't find a brand name on the rifle anywhere.

That's a CYMA/JG/ACM (airsoft chinese made) AK replica that is cloned from the gen 1 Tokyo Marui AK design. The achilles heel on those replicas are are plastic receivers and buttstock connection tabs. Judging from the pictures, it looks like the connections are sheared and you will need a replacement stock altogether. This should fit: https://www.evike.com/products/29441/ and is easy to install (just remove the pistol grip and that will give you ample clearance to remove the 3 screws that hold on the stock.

I'd call http://www.tacticalairsoftarena.com/ on their store hours (Rockville location) and ask if they got any spare parts for Tokyo Marui AK clones. I used to work in that arena as an airsmith and we used to run short version of those AKs as rentals all the time. Perhaps they can cannibalize a junker to help you out, or PM me and I can ask management themselves.

Maybe this will work depending on the condition of the stock:

I believe the whole stock will need replacement

That looks like it'll do. Thanks a lot.

They are considered entry level airsoft guns, and a budget version as well. There are definitely better guns out there, but the airsoft hobby is a big rabbit hole to get into, and it really depends on what your are looking to get out of it.

The gun you currently have is a bargain if it worked out of the box. Build quality mainly focused on the internals (metal gearbox internals), but like anything that comes out from China with a budget, expect typical chinesium style "corner cuts". In this case, the externals will more likely fall apart before the internals do. There are definitely better airsoft guns out there, specifically taiwanese mid-tier and high tier (G&G, LCT, E&L, ICS, VFC, just to name a few) and American imported ones (better quality control; Krytac, etc.) if they want to dwelve deeper into the hobby.

If your son gets more into the hobby, that gun will be a great learning platform for airsoft gun repairs and upgrades due to the low cost. Everyone gotta start somewhere, and it was broken chinese airsoft guns and YT videos for me to get into repairs and upgrades. I remember owning the same AK and it performed wonderfully in the power department, even too strong for field game use (420 fps/.25g BB). Taking it apart, I cut a few coils off the spring to reduce the FPS a tad bit to make it field compliant and refit/regrease/reshim/wirework everything (ironing out the chinese sweatshop assembly configuration) while I had it taken apart.

I kept it bone stock and ran it with lipo (7.4v lithium R/C batteries), which are way better than the NIMH/NICD "sample" batteries they come with. After a few scruffs from field game use, and a drop here and there, the receiver cracked, but was easily replaced with a TM spec metal one. The thing ran like a tank with no issues right after, and I sold it off to a friend for them to get them into the hobby.
