I'm anticipating some upgrades on my Sig P226. I'll benefit from your feedback based on your knowledge and experience.

    Contemplated upgrades:

    1. Replace factory 21 lb. hammer spring with 19 lb. spring.
    2. Install SRT. Options discussed on forums are the Sig factory version and the GrayGuns version. Opinion seems to be that GG is both better quality and more expensive.
    3. Straight trigger. Debate seems to be between Armory Craft and GrayGuns.

What advice can you offer? Any other upgrades I should be giving thought to?

    Night sights?

Does it have the E2 grips, or original?

(E2 grips have no visible screw, and are slimmer & more ergonomic for most people)

There are 2 different SRT's one is short reset, the other is short reach. I recommend both. I have put them in 3 or 4 Sigs in my household and feel that all of them are improved.

E2's are like cilantro, some people love them, some people hate them. Depends on your own hands.

Gray Guns is worth it, IMO. I have Gray Guns stuff in H&Ks and Sig.

The SRT internals with a GG trigger is sweet. I have an early P226 Legion which came with an actual GrayGuns P-SAIT trigger from the factory(before Sig tooled up their own clone) and SRT. It's the nicest trigger on any handgun I own. Very comfortable.

I have the Sig SRT on a couple Sigs and it is worth every penny. I don't have the GrayGuns stuff on anything so I can't compare. With regard the short reach or straight trigger there is no way to tell without trying them. I like the straight trigger but YMMV. The short trigger works well for me because I have smaller hands but people with large hands end up having to switch back so if you like the trigger position I wouldn't mess with it. On my duty 226 and 228 pistols I used to have the Hogue grips, I like the rubber, the finger grooves, and the palm swell so it's a win as far as I'm concerned.

Will the P226 accept the E2 grip?
I know they make factory e2 grip for the 226.

Date etc I do not know, one one I put them on was the home build. But they are way more comfortable than the original 2 panel grips

I have an E2 grip on my 229 and like it a whole lot more than the factory. I am thinking of getting the short reset trigger from GG.
