Same slide as the P229, and I have a mounting plate and an RMR in my P229.

The old 228s with a 2 piece block can’t be cut. Not sure what else to tell you.

The new ones, yes, mine is early 1990's and other than the length, the block and firing pin area and mechanicals are the same.

I guess I should have been a little more specific.

I would caution against it… or determine exactly if your model is OK to do it. I guess some of the newer ones are.

Does yours have a removable / 2 piece firing block ?
