A tubular plastic clothes hanger works really well. Slip it over the barrel, place it on the delta ring, squeeze, and pull/rock back. Install the handguards one at a time. There's a learning curve but it won't mar the delta ring and you most likely already have one hanging in a closet. I've been doing it this way for years.
