    Put a target type folding peep-sight, an A.G. Parker No9W, on an SMLE,.22 conversion. The front sight was way too short, even bottomed out on the elevator & with the bolt knob bouncing the windage arm every time it cycled it was 5" high!
    Globe sights are rarer than chicken teeth or rocking horse poo. What to do?
    Make a really TALL front sight blade?
    Hmmm . . .

    No, its a mod to an existing one.
    added a fillet above the blade & made an inverted "U" with shim stock which also has "feet" extending out over the base then epoxied the whole mess & filed down to fit.
