This rifle is really special to me, my grandfather loved it. I wouldn't trade it for an MG42 and that's saying alot. The MG42 is my favorite all time firearm, but this is the gun I'm the most attached to. Seems like everyone has one of those.

Anyone know where I can something engraved on the stock? I'd like to get his name and Rank permanently carved in.

Ok looked up the code for the bolt, it's A-10, from 1945 as well. Any other things I should look for to verify? I'm very interested in this now.

Dug out my CMP 1945 Springfield match barrel M1. Zero throat gauge. Got it back in 07 and I've definitely not shot it enough. NEED to shoot it some more. Came with the new wood which I darkened and sealed with linseed oil. I'll sell my family into sexual slavery before selling this rifle.

Just shined up the stock a little bit. The flash makes it look like the grain changes, but in person she's a beaut Clark.

According to Poyer & Riesch, the correct bolt for your gun would be marked D28287-19SA. Drawing number 6528287-SA is post war, from serial# 4,200,000 through end of production.

A correct operating rod would be marked D35382 9 SA, and the trigger housing would be D28290-18-SA.

There are probably other markings too, but this'll get you going.

    Beautiful stock.

The SA 9 op rod is fairly easy to find if you wanted to correct it. Some people don't like shooting original 9 op rods due to possibility of them cracking but there are mixed opinions on this. Can you pull the op rod back and take a picture of the numbers on the side of the barrel?

I also believe you should have type III lockbar rear sight for this year. I actually have a type III but I'm looking for a type II to match my Jan 43 SA I have.
