Hello:

Kind of a gray area on these.

There are a lot that are not on the regulated/banned list

And they also comply with the detachable magazine and less than three features law..

Plus some dealers (FFLs) consider them a cash and carry item...

Are they going to be banned after Oct 1 or what?

Trying to figure it out if I have to spend a bunch of money soon or can afford to wait..

Any ideas?

If they aren't on the banned list and don't have the banned features they will not be banned. You will be able to buy them after October 1st.

Yeah, specifically I am looling at getting an LMT 308 MWS and possibly others similar...would rather put off spending close to 3k if it can wait...

You should be able to wait on that one (DPMS style AR-308: not banned). An M1A / M14, however, you would have to purchase now or never* get one again after October 1.
