I have my father in laws old Remington 22. The only identification I see is 22 Remington Auto Loading and Union Metalic Cartridge Co. The serial # is 15706. No model number. Only a patient date of Mar. 10th 1914. Family members have told me they used to shoot 22 shorts out of this rifle. Does anyone have any info on this one? Can I shoot shorts out of this safely?
