January has been mild. Last week saw this tree outside my doctors office window, it has buds.

On another note. Wasn't the Polar Bear Plunge moved to February to avoid some really cold water temperatures in January?
Saturday February 4th is this years plunge.
Expected low around 13 in the morning with a high of 29 for the day.
Similar to the day I took the plunge in Utqiagvik, Alaska (formerly Barrow), but it was in the middle of summer, July 6, 2005.

To get back on track of the thread, no I haven't seen any ground hogs yet.

Yeah, they are awake. The dogs have informed me in the absence of deer and waterfowl hunting it is groundhog time. My daughters dog looks like and ostrich with his head in holes and not wanting to leave them. Sighted in the 22 mag today. I need to provide fetch toys for the dogs. Meat toys are always a hit for retriever training. It really builds their drive over plastic dummies. :lol2:
