Those are really nice blades. My father has a few of them he purchased many years ago that are in a nice presentation case at his home. I am more into firearms but can appreciate the care and workmanship needed to make a good blade. There are a few good videos on youtube on how they are made - really interesting.

That's pretty. I love those things. Just can't bring myself to buy any because I'm not much of a display person.

I love the Damascus steel. I have bought about 4 from the same guy you probably got your from. He has some awsome looking knives huh? Every time I go to the show in Upper Marlboro I pick one up from him.

i'm thinking this may become an addiction. now to find a damascus sword.:D

Big fan of damascus/pattern welded steel, here's some of mine(minus the Samurai swords and a couple more folders).
The two in the top middle are US made, the rest are imported....

Here's the rest of my damascus blades including some hand forged ones.
Got the one on top from ebay for around $100 about 10 years ago which isn't a bad price at all, got no idea how old it is but probably not very old.
Pocket knives are Kershaw scallions and a Bear and Sons butterfly knife.
All the large Samurai swords are newly made in China.
The oldest are the 3 on the bottom.
Japanese short swords are several hundred years old along with the Chinese executioner's sword that's clearly heavily used.
