16 Hour AR Build Class & Power Loss

Yesterday's AR Build Class was 16 Hours long. My 4 Students were troopers. Thank you for being so patient. It was a pleasure to have you gentleman.

We lost power for almost 3 hours. I had a Generator on standby so we were back up and running off extension cords and LED Lighting 15 minutes after power loss.

I really need to get some type of backfeed installed so I can power the entire garage and avoid extension cords.

I installed this model myself. The instructions were pretty good and there is a DIY YouTube video as well.

Now the most difficult part of the process is moving the generator outside in the rain.

Thanks Chad for a super class!! I had a super time and learned a lot, even though I had to leave early at the 14 1/2 hour mark. It was a pleasure to meet everyone and to learn more about "America's Rifle." I had heard about military people being able to strip and assemble their rifles with their eyes closed, but I think that polishing feed ramps and mounting barrels under a single light was enough of a challenge for me.

The class is worth a little loss of power! Sorry I could not be there

My generator is a 12kw. I appreciate the links for the transfer switch but that's all Greek to me. Homey don't mess with electric.

I need an electrician.

I bought one similar to the one in the link and had a friend whos an electrician install it. Its not a huge job and not hard, if you know an electrician.
