I've got one and love it. I love my Sig 320 more for some reason. Both great guns. Nice trigger, well made. Magazine capacity should be higher for that size of gun though.

I don't know your gun experience, but which gun would you pay for if one or the other were free?

Would rather have the PPQ. HK is close but doesn't top the PPQ overall.

Love mine. It makes targets look like this

I had read lots of great things about them on other forums and picked mine up on the 17th and took it with me for a Thanksgiving family shoot fest.

First target shot shown above @ 10 yds.

Still waiting to get a full range report with mine. I got to shoot it once, borrowing a mag. Haven't gotten a chance to pick my mags up from PA yet...

Speaking of new striker-fired 9mm options, any interest in the recently released (in the US) Italian made Arsenal Strike One? If the low bore axis on Glocks appeals to some, this one goes lower. Only a few reviews thus far, so I'm waiting for more (and perhaps this pistol may be more of a Glock/CZ competitor than HK VP9 alternative).

That low of a bore axis comes with its own baggage. Better have thin hands and enough situational awareness to always force your grip low. Otherwise, the slide bite will be a painful eye opener.

OP, first I've heard of the VP9. Looks like the ugly stepchild of two or three other manufacturers. It's ugly in a Ruger pistol way. I like it. I like it a lot. Now I'll need to check one out in person.

The VP9 looked smaller and better looking in person than I was expecting. It also has that distinctive HK black that I find appealing. Haven't shot one yet.

Wonder if it was because of user(s) abuse.
You can be sure on-target's users are going to abuse, but i want a gun that's abuse proof. You have probably seen the YouTube videos of people abusing the crap out of glocks that continue to fire.

Check out HKpro.com. There, you'll find all the information you could want to know about the VP9. But it's HK, so not much more needs to be said. The only question is whether or not it's comfortable in your hand.

I have one. It shoots great.I got a chance to shoot one just before it was released and that sold me. If you have one the p30 serpa works. Psa has them for 19.99. I need another 15 rounder. Hopefully hk catches up on manufacturing by the spring.

I like HK's and own one, but HKpro is unbearable to skim through. Completely full of dudes talking about their guns as if they were barbies ("check out the color fill on X")
