Those little "Colt Jr." pistols were made for colt by Astra. Not bad little pistols. Once the 1968 GCA went into effect they couldn't be imported any more so Firearms International in the US made them for Colt...identical pistols just different maker.

    Appreciate that background info.

Love those early Colt pistols. I've got a few 1908s in .25ACP. This one was made in 1933.

Mine was made in 1918. My only colt firearm and it’s easily one of my favorites in my collection.

... There is a similar looking Browning brand .25 that looks very similar to that Colt that I have had the opportunity to use at the range...
    Thanks for sharing

Fabrique Nationale Browning 1905 (or 1906 depending on who you ask). Basically the same pistol, both Colt and FN built it under license from JMB.
The thumb safety was added to the FN a little later.
    Early examples of each:

I paid $400 on GunBroker this past March (no holster). Mine is just over a hundred years old. Still shoots fine. Also got another magazine for it from GB for $30.

I have a couple of these pop-guns. One of which Grandma used to carry loaded with her when she drove all over the country in the 70s and 80s. Great fun. They have a reputation for failure to feed, but in the case of at least one of mine it was because the recoil spring was just flat worn-out. New springs and original Colt mag and it always fires.
