This morning, we lost one our best friends in the 2A community when Sen. Wayne Norman (Cecil & Harford) died suddenly at home.
It is only fitting that The Patriot Picket host a Candlelight Tribute & Vigil for the late Sen. Norman tomorrow night (Monday night)--an event that will set aside our regular Monday night partisan messaging so that we may respectfully honor a departed Patriot and our valued supporter in Annapolis.
As usual, the Patriot Picket will take to the Bricks adjacent to Lawyer's Mall from 7pm to 8pm and we will have several signs (below) as the centerpiece of our Tribute & Vigil for the late Senator Norman. We expect to be joined by many of the legislators.
We welcome you to make your own sign at home, but if not, it is MUCH more important that you join us because we will have signs, flags and candle-cups ready for this event that you can hold.
If you can, bring your own full-size candle. Again, we will supply the translucent cups and stick lighters for the Tribute. We do have some extra candles to distribute to those who are coming directly from work without one.
Please, if you only make ONE Patriot Night Out this month, make it this one. It will mean so much to the very many people at the Statehouse who revered Sen. Norman for his happy, engaging spirit.
Our vigil will resemble a powerful moment at the NRA several years ago, when the Patriot Picket stood for the lives lost in the Orlando nightclub tragedy.
We hope to see you there for what will be one of the most important tributes in Annapolis this year.
