I also use the standard 5.56 magpul mags. I have shot super and subs without a single issue.

Haven't had a problem with Magpul Gen2s, although do havee 300BLK mags too, they do seem to stack a little cleaner in the 300 mags, but apparently the normal gen 2s are close enough to feed 100%. This is with 150gr FMJs, 110gr v-max and 220gr Berrys in subs, might have some issues with really fat nosed bullets, but all I shoot are spire point. I don't do the whole different mags/color combos when shooting 300 with 5.56, I just look at the ammo when I slap a mag in, keep the ammo sources separate, and usually keep one cased when shooting the other caliber. Guess I could use bands or something to make sure there isn't a mixup, but IMO it's more likely and dangerous to get a 300BO or two mixed into a box of my 5.56, so that is what I spend most of my attention on preventing.

I use Magpul 556 and 300 blk, both have 300AAC BLK band I bought off amazon for added tactile recognition.

I use troy battle mags for the 300. A 40 rnd pmag is on the left and troy battle mag on the right. The battle mag ridges are more rounded at the rear and slightly further forward. They dont interfere as much as pmags do with longer blackout bullets.

They also give you an additional layer of protection against mixing 5.56 and blackout.

Iíve used 110 all the way up to 220. Never had a single issue with the pmags and I shoot both suppressed and not. The only issue I ever had was with a lighter 110 round separating from the casing but that was the round, not the magazine and it only occurred once.

Personally Iím not against specific 300blk pmags, just havenít had a need - and I have two 300blk rifles.

I know that standard Magpuls are not good due to the internal ribs. They do have a .300 BO mag, are they good to go?

Others?

Thanks.
Buy one 300 Magpul and then file the guide rails on your .223 mags to the same thickness as the 300 Magpul. I did this both to Magpuls and Lancers for my 300 BO and 7.62x40WT mags. The cheapest I ever found the 300 Magpuls for was $20 so it is cheaper converting the .223 mags.

I use standard 5.56 magpul gen 2 and 3 mags for 200 and 220 grain 300 bo and never had an issue. I think the ammo was a mixture of hornady, magtech and sig, but I don't recall off the top of my head which grain was which.

my suggestion is get the magpul 300blk gen 3 mags, and use a white out pen to color in 300. that should stand out like a sore thumb if you do not feel comfortable with just looking at the ammo.

Also, another idea, is when visiting the range, take only a .556 or a .300blk firearm with the corresponding ammunition with you.
