Sig uses a very flat profile beavertail which is actually the same profile as the 1911-A1 WWII type grip safety. Neither work well for me. I fitted an S&A high hold to mine... made a world of difference.

I have to put some rounds through it. My impression from other Sig 1911s has been good. It is nice to know that the aftermarket is gigantic for the 1911 platform. I battled with Colt and SA. But the value was very high with Sig.

Sigs aren’t perfect. Ask to see a fired shell casing or use a snap cap to determine if the firing pin is on or close to center. Sig is notorious for having WAY off center firing pin strikes and will not rectify it.

My mother just passed away on Thursday night. My dad is already gone and I’m an only child, so it really cut a piece of my heart out. To make myself feel better I bought the below 1911 and am awaiting its arrival. I know my mom would want me to be happy and lately firearms are all that put a smile on my face.

It’s a little loud looking, but I like those black and stainless mixes like Springfield puts out. The new Colt Combat Elite is similar.
Man, I shouldn't have looked up the 2018 Colt Combat Elite after your post ... was planning on taking a break before then, lol.

I put 100 rounds of Federal 230gr FMJ through my Sig today. Ran perfect. Thanks to "gmharle" for meeting at Continental and bringing his toys.
