More of a gimmicky letter-opener that I can’t take out of the house. Still kinda neat

Scorpion Sword and Knife, Super Predator Knife. It is loosely based on the knife Billy used in the movie Predator.
It's 1095 carbon steel and weighs about 2 lbs.

Is the fingerguard an add on or did it come like that?

    Q

This is an experimental knuckle guard. Only one side of the handle grip was replaced on an otherwise standard M7 bayonet. From what I have read, these were Vietnam era but never adopted or officially used by the U.S. military. I have heard stories of servicemen carrying them overseas but the stories were unsubstantiated. I suppose it could be true as these were commercially available. I never could find any information on them until the internet came along years later. Pretty cool design. They came in both heat treated aluminum and brass. Mine is brass.

Coolest knife I have. No idea how old it is. I got it from my dad, who says he got it in the late 50s, early 60s, but can't remember where. Kinda Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom kinda blade. Blade looks to have been sharpened, a lot. It is worn, but very sharp. A skull, with a snake wrapping around it, some gemstones missing. Balances pretty nice though.

Very cool... but something tells me when we reach the last day of the Mayan calendar and the planets all line up, those red eyes are going to start glowing and you're going to be possessed by the spirit of an ancient priest... :ohnoes:

I've seen this movie before. It doesn't end well.

Been carrying this for a few months now, I really like this knife. I wish I would have came across them years ago. It’s a German made Mercator model K55K with a carbon blade. It’s a lockback. They also make them in stainless, but I’m a carbon blade guy.
Super thin, you forget it’s in your pocket. Came razor sharp, and is easily keep that way.

Nothing fancy, nothing modern, just a good classic pocket knife.

Is that a coffee table display case? I think you need another one

Shoot, at the time I went looking for one, I played hell finding this one! Goes well with the rest of the furniture in the den though. Wait, or are you saying it's too full of Gerber knives?

Fine, I dumped them all in a big plastic tub, and lightly filled the display with these ugly old German knives. I guess they couldn't afford micarta for handle scales back then, so they'd go find these old sheds in the Schwartz Wald and use those for free... Cheap bastards them Deutschers... Heck, they couldn't even be bothered to grind the ridges and bumps off of the handles scales? Terrible craftsmanship...

    Crummy old German Messers;

As to the Gerbers, more to the truth, before they hit the storage tub, they each get:
    1. A hug (they were made in Portland, so...)
    2. A wipe down (hippie made hippie knives can't stay clean...)
    3. Shoved (gently) back in their original "safe space", their boxes!
4 THEN shoved in a plastic tub...

That would be slick if I could find a table just about a foot wider, I've got room in the den, and might be able to fill that...

I just started collecting “Demo” knives. I had this one from 1986 and picked one up that was made by Camillus in 2003, shortly before they closed up shop. I also have a Queen Cutlery “Q 1986” Demo knife on the way.
