The Annapolis City Council is meeting TONIGHT (Monday night) from 6:00 - 6:30pm to discuss the “Guns/Trump Hate” political rally pushed by their activist Leftist Mayor For this Saturday—but without City Council input.

Please use this link to call or email each of the Annapolis City Council members to say that it is SHAMEFUL that the Gazette Families Benefit Concert has been hijacked to conduct a PARTISAN political rally focused on criticizing President Trump and firearms ownership.

Insist that the speaking appearances by the Trump-and-gun-hating TV celebrities Joy Behar and Jordan Klepper be CANCELLED so that the focus of the Benefit Concert can return to the families affected by the Gazette shooting tragedy.

So, do you really expect us to believe the announcement that Joy Behar was speaking was “an error” in something they wrote up?

When was the last time you wrote your friends: “Joy Behar is speaking at my backyard BBQ”... in error?

More like, the backlash now underway...got Joy Behar knocked off the speakers list.

Keep up the barrage to get the gun hater Comedy Central clown off the stage, too!

A couple weeks ago I finally changed my cell phone from a Maryland number to a Colorado one, so I don't think calling will be effective for me anymore. I did go down the list Rack linked and emailed each of the "alderpersons" and the mayor and shamed them for allowing a memorial service for the deceased to be hijacked by political grandstanding and hatred.

Thank you to those who have emailed to protest this embarrassing Political Hack event that dances on fresh graves.

I knocked out 9 emails (8 alderman, 1 mayor) earlier today...you can too. It's VERY satisfying.

We are now about 3.5 hours before the crucial meeting in Annapolis tonight, re: this fundraiser, so there is still time to zing them with a couple of emails. Again, there are 8 city alderman on the list, plus the mayor.

Here the many points that can be made:

* An Street Party is not the most thoughtful memorial fundraising idea.
* A 10-hour political event reminds one of Cuba and Fidel Castro, does it not?
* Alcohol sales are the basis for this event, which appears to be a downtown stimulus program instead.
* Celebrity Comedians are invited to honor the memory of those lost.
* Mayor Buckley set this fundraiser right in the district where he owns businesses.
* The last of the funerals to bury those killed at the Gazette happened only two weeks ago. Yes, too soon!
* Who among the families wanted a 10-hour drinking party in memory of their loves one?
* How much money could possibly left over after all the expenses of for staging, hacks, and celebrities.
* Why does the Mayor think the answer to every challenge is....a street party?

I wrote a different email to each alderman, with one issue from the list for each person.

One example:

Dear Ms. Tierney,

You, and all of our elected city leaders should be ASHAMED for the disgraceful dance party—complete with alcohol and PARTISAN political speeches-- that you have planned for this Saturday!

Who thought that a Rock Festival—complete with TWO comedians bashing Trump and others—is any kind of comfort to the still-grieving families who just recently conducted burials for loved ones killed in the Capital Gazette ambush? Who sanctioned the idea of bringing in a spiteful comic like Joy Behar, along with a Comedy Central satirist who specializes in spoofing gun ownership?

Talk about TONE DEAF! Where are the grownups in Annapolis City Government?

This disrespectful festival should be scrapped immediately with a more appropriate and thoughtful and somber and fundraising event—sans alcohol-- taking its place.
