To follow up, per a letter a friend of mine, that applied to be on the task force in one of the at large citizen spots, received from the County Executive's Office, the meetings will indeed be open to the public and are indeed covered under the open meetings act.

So another group of fools, that simply can't grasp the fact,if someone wishes to murder another person there is no law they can pass to stop them. You can not legislate morality. So here is what this ass force will find, Maryland needs new laws that prevent lawful citizens from doing what that haven't done or intend to do, which we have no intent of ever doing. So they can justify the gross amount of money this ass force is gonna consume.
Just a side note leave LEO'S out of this, we aren't the problem, it's the same idiots that get electeded over and over again. As for me I no longer care what these ass clowns pass or say, I WILL NOT COMPLY.

I'm guessing from their name, the task force will promote using gun violence to combat gun violence? Y'know, like the dreaded cases of opinionated 61-year-old men who are only guilty of having an argument with their sister--who then so bravely reported him as being an extreme risk out of spite. Threats like that, right?

Pretty switched on op-ed in the Capital Gazette calling for Andrea Chamblee's resignation from this "Task Force" due to her disdain for gun owners as demonstrated by her lies to promote UBCs and her false attacks on the PP.

The (Anne Arundel County) council also approved a resolution placing two members — Stacey Korbelak and Chris Moore — to the Anne Arundel County Gun Violence Prevention Task Force. County Executive Steuart Pittman put together the task force after the June 28 shooting in The Capital Gazette offices on Bestgate Road. Five newspaper employees were killed in the shooting. The task force will meet and develop recommendations to reduce gun violence in the county.

Korbelak is a Democratic Central Committee member. I can't ID Moore.

I assume one is a hunter and the other competes in IDPA. Or maybe their father owned a gun.

Just wondering if these will be “open” meetings. This group of people with such hate for “x” may only focus on removing “x” from the equation without realizing that may not be possible.

These are County meetings and must be open.

Of course, they are one-sided. sponsored by a gun-hating executive, chaired by professional and semi-professional victims, with a membership of folks who just know that guns are bad. This is part of the same group that just decried the "more lethal AR-15s".

I'm sure they'll be discussing gang/drug activity, suicide causes and prevention, fatherless homes, psychotropic drugs, and other root causes. If there's time, they may discuss additional gun laws.

We expect to observe the tearing out of purple hair, pearl-clutching, liberal tears, rending of Red Garments and the lamentations of their Red Women.
