Battle Damaged Finn Capture 1938 Tula

Picked this up from our own Brian at South Carroll Sporting Goods. Once I saw it I couldn't put it down.

This one has obvious signs of being hit by shrapnel or some other type of impact. Left side of the stock is peppered with a bunch of smaller holes. Nothing that seems to have severely damaged the stock though. One piece entered just below the woodline and struck the receiver. Receiver has a few bigger impact craters.

Other than that the rifle is in excellent shape. All of the parts are the original correct Tula and it is all matching with no re-numbered parts. Bore is in great shape and it's not counterbored.

Can't imagine what it's seen. The Finn's must've picked it up off of some dead commie peasant and never did much else with it.

Let me know what you guys think.

Years ago when the M1 rifles came in from Korea I saw one that still had a bit of hair and skin sticking out from under the butt plate.

I would bet the Finnish soldier that had that rifle when that damage occurred may not have survived but you never know. Awesome piece of history.

Thanks guys! I needed another 91/30 like I need another hole in my head, but when I see stuff like that I can’t let it go.

Might even try to shoot it sometime in the near future.
