    help me understand.

    and, is an SD9VE ok with it? im looking to expand my ammo utilization, and a good bit of currently available HP's are 124 gr (+P).

    a plus P round is of the same caliber but has a hotter propellant/ charge. refer to your owners manual for proper ammo utilization. certainly some here think a +P is okay in a self defense situation, but will argue to not use a steady diet since it will put excessive wear and tear on the components, thereby ruining your gun/ moving parts and in some extreme situations, can injure the shooter.

    Yes your gun can handle it. Of course as always an extended diet will increase wear and tear. If you were talking tens of thousands of rounds that would be a factor. The occasional box , and carry , no worry.

    Of course compare the actual rounds from your gun , in your hands , and make sure the increased recoil doesn't adversly effect your rapid accurate control, in all situations. Hint , one handed weak hand is usually the acid test.

    target sports , Sportsman Guide, SGAmmo all have some 124HP. Check SG for Federal HSTs. TargetSports seem to have biggest selection at the time. I have Winchester ranger in 124 and Gold Dots in 115. I like 124 better. I think remington golden sabers, gold dots, federal HS, and Rangers are all very good (if your handguns feeds them OK).
