So, I had the opportunity to try my hand at long range pistol shooting: 9mm at 100yds and .45 at 150yds. If anything, just for sh!+'s and giggles.

The drop was surprisingly low, but the fun part was that I could visually track the boolit the whole way. Hadn't seen that before and I was quite thrilled about shooting that far and being able to watch it all the way to the target.

Good fun! Next time I'll take my video camera and see if it will pick it up.

BTW - I am decent at 50yds, but I couldn't hit shite at that distance. Maybe hit it 2-3 times... Danced all around it with the exception of a few flyers. Just another skill I need to develope and looking forward to it.

I have a pistol and caliber that is made for that range: S&W 460M.

Yoshi, your a little late, but welcome to long distance handgun sniping.

With some practice, you'll be picking off soda cans at 100+ yards consistently.

BTW, 357SIG has almost no drop out to 150 yards. ;)

Try doing it with 455 Webley sometime, you have to aim about 20 ft above the target. Its like underhand throwing.

I never really thought about that application, but I am excited about honing that skill.

It's definitely fun to shoot handguns on a rifle range. The look on other peoples faces, Priceless. :D

Freakin' SCARCQB got me hooked on it.

I find it hard to see soda cans at 100 yards.
