If you are in a retail business and you do not treat your customers well you're not going to have customers. No customers no business lots of customers lots of inventory.

Treat your customers right and they'll spend their money with you- even if it costs them a few dollars more. I can't tell you how many times we've been told something along the lines of "You're charging $599 and shop XYZ is charging $579. You're treating me right, so I would rather give you my business."
Customer service is very important in this industry.

Your shop is top notch and I agree with your statement. The sale of the merchandise is only 1 part of the process. Being able to come back and ask questions without being made to feel dumb or be treated as an inconvenience is worth far more than a few bucks to me

Their customer service sucked, and their prices were too high to compete. Law of the business jungle...

I went there one time about 4-5 years ago. Seemed like none of their employees could be bother waiting on me.

This was exactly my experience as well, roughly the same time frame. There was like only a single other customer in the place, its not very big, so its not like they were too busy or anything. Was really weird, its common stereotype that a lot of gun shops don't have the best customer service, but that place was especially terrible.

I am not speaking for the company, but for one employee. I bought my first handgun though them before I knew of the issues with MDS. When I was talking to the salesman (at a Timonium show) and trying to decide between 2 different models, I was commenting about the lack of handgun training local to where I lived. He gave me his number and told me that when I had decided on a gun to call him and he would meet me out at Hap Baker to help me learn how to use my gun properly. Sadly, I never took him up on it.

Well, then you're lucky you got THAT guy. I was at the Howard Cty. show and I was looking at an SR9C they had at their booth. I had overheard several (sales) people all around the show talking about how it seemed as if nobody was buying anything. So, I told this young'ish kid working the booth that I would be a buyer at (Marked price -$25) and this kid looked at me and just said "Yeah, I BET you would!" and he turned his back on me, probably to see if any of his buddies caught his 'quick wit.' So, I walked. Definitely not big on customer service.

The upside to not buying the SR9 that day? Got a great combo deal on a HK USP45 and a 1911 and DIDN'T buy from them.
