Simply another way to demonize firearms and firearms owners. If they can aquait guns and gun owners with deaths and injuries involving firearms then it (gun violence, what ever the f*ck that is) can be categorized as a disease that needs government intervention. So in essence they want to categorize the 2nd Amendment as some sort of malignancy on current society. My personal opinion is they don't need a study. All they have to do is start acknowledging a large majority of firearm related violence and deaths can be attributed to major city gang and drug related violence with mostly illegally obtained and possessed firearm's. Something we already have laws for, like you know, the one's we have for murder and assault too. Where this is going is more laws, restrictions and bans on legal firearms owners who are not the problem and never were. That is except they have firearms that can ultimately be used to remove these tyrannical a$$holes from office if need be and that scares the living crap out of them.

Well Hell,, CDC owning a rental property is a public health hazard,, so they must be confiscated from the evil white landlords for "The common good"

Remember, The left could never pass 99% of what they want to achieve,, so they use un-elected bureaucrats to do the dirty work of enacting the policy,,,

“In one of those projects, gun stores in Colorado have developed a suicide awareness program. So far in 2021, more than 15,700 people in the US have used a gun to end their own lives, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
Another project in Vermont educates children about how to safely use and store guns.”

I am not in favor of CDC programs that will be used as a pretext for ******** infringements. But do we agree that the quoted above are the kinds of things that funding would be productive without promoting the usual nonsense restrictions/infringements. Am I missing anything?

It wouldn't be productive because the their findings are already pre-determined. They are trying to link guns, to being the cause, or the stimulant for suicides. Ban or regulate guns for the health aspect, and the hope is more people will sympathize and follow in lockstep with the brainwashing. They are hoping to corelate the data to suicides, declare it a health emergency, and implement special powers like they did during Covid.

When people choose a firearm for suicide, they are typically at their end, and choose a quick, final method. There is NO data to suggest that if a suicidal person was denied access to a firearm, they wouldn't choose another method. Further more, even though the United States is number one in civilian gun ownership, they were (last I looked), like 28th in suicides, behind other countries with very strict gun control.

The issue is, they do the studies to justify the restrictions/infringements they want. If they really cared about safety, our cities would be safe, rather than the poster child for catch and release prosecuting.
