    Hi all,
I'm new here and have been a lurker for awhile, but just joined because I have a question about a sale of a rifle to a MD resident and current laws. One of my friends that wants to buy my rifle, which is an M5E1 AR-308 in 6.5 Creedmoor, basically configured like this one from Aero precision.

    https://www.aeroprecisionusa.com/m5e1-complete-rifle-22in-6pt5-creedmoor-ss-rifle-length

My friend is a MD resident and I am a PA resident. From researching the MD laws, my assumption is that I can sell it to him as long as we do the transfer at an FFL in MD. Am I correct? I'm not familiar with all the MD specific laws surrounding semi automatic rifles. Will he have to have the HQL thing too or is it simply the 4473 and out the door for him?

I've never done a sale to a MD resident, so I want to be sure of things.

    Thanks!

Ok. Thanks! This whole business of "HBAR" makes me nervous because the barrel does not have that specific marking, but it is a heavy profile by looking at it. Does the HBAR requirement apply in this case?

HBAR is only for barrels that are 5.56/.223. All other sizes like 6.5 Grendal, 9MM, .300 GTG. Also, you are selling a Creedmore, not a caliber based off an AR 15 lower. Does not apply.

No it does not. AR10’s do not have an HBAR requirement
