I'm still trying to figure out how to get something like what the MPX-C would have been before the lawsuit, even if you need a stamp or two to get there. I've found a couple of rail dovetail adapters that would let you mount a buffer tube without the folding mechanism, which will decrease length a bit compared to those linked above but would then permit flash hiders. The descriptions call them "pistol" adapters, but the ID threads are the same for all AR-15 buffer tubes or we'd need pistol/milspec/commercial lowers.

The Innovative Arms integral suppressor barrel looks promising to add some more length (essentially a permanently affixed shroud with removable monocore baffles) but exact sizing is hard to come by online.

DC44-The total length of the integral suppressor is 12" per company. So an additional 4"

Here is another option. I'm talking with the guy now about making longer rails.

Any response on him making these with longer rails?

I see on Sig Store that the collapsable stock is in stock. I may purchase that in hopes that smdub offers his solution for sale.

FWIW: This is just 'version 1'. I can make the stock collapse 2" shorter but I ran into several tooling problems. A new collet I have is ground the wrong size:mad54: and I can't find another end mill I thought I had:o. Will have to order both to proceed with version 2.

Do you have any updates on version two of the stock?

No:( I bought some angle cutters that I needed but just haven't had time to get to it. Spare time to work on projects is my limiting factor for everything:( Though I've reduced the time it takes to knock out the gen 1s to an acceptable level. I've made a couple of those already. I think I have one more sig stock to go w/ them too.

I just found this thread and figured I would add a few options that I have been looking at while waiting for my stamp to arrive.

Not sure what length rods would be necessary to achieve 29", but several options are available here.

Zhukov adapter, first one is the longest I have found and allows for ejection when folded. Not sure what the OAL would be though.

Another Zhukov adapter. This one is shorter, and may possibly block ejection port when folded.

Note: These pics are all taken on my MPX *CARBINE*. I do not own a MPX pistol, so I don't have any problems doing this w/o an approved SBR stamp.

Collapsed, the stock is 8" from the 'flat' of the picatinny rail to the end of the stock. Thats about 3/8" shorter than the original stock fully extended. Yields about 12" LOP. Extended, it is a little over 13.25" & 17" LOP. Several of my friends have MPX pistols and they tell me the OAL is 16-1/16" (with the flash hider removed) but I have not confirmed this. That would add up to 29-3/8 if you put this on an SBR approved pistol:D FWIW, It currently only has lock positions at both ends. One could be added in the middle to any desired LOP.

FWIW: This is just 'version 1'. I can make the stock collapse 2" shorter but I ran into several tooling problems. A new collet I have is ground the wrong size:mad54: and I can't find another end mill I thought I had:o. Will have to order both to proceed with version 2.

    Hey all,

new to buying firearms and new to this site. I found this forum while searching for a way to get a Sig MPX SBR in Maryland. I love the way the 8" MPX SBR feels, shoots, and looks. I just got my Hand Gun License and I would really love to get a MPX SBR as my 1st weapon.

Does anyone know if SMDUB is still around? I would love to talk to him about the stock he added to his MPX.

Does anyone know a place to can get an aftermarket telescoping stock like the one SNDUB added to his MPX?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    That's awesome.

They say right on the page that if you need them longer they can make them longer.

Here's the solution to having an MPX SBR in Maryland that can also have a flash suppressor (or sound suppressor) on it. Someone just has to do the math on how much longer the rods need to be, and that's that.

When did they receive your application? Im end of June but still nothing yet :(

I'm hearing 8 to 10 months for Individual Form 1's to be processed. Seems like the election took it's toll on the BATF and Form 1 applications.

It's not so much the election as it was the pre-41f rush.

Are you cutting down a carbine, or putting a stock on a pistol?
What barrel length are you using?

Pistol, so the 8" barrel. Will probably move forward with the rail lengths (after stamp gets in) based on smdub's measurements and report back.

June 12, as noted NFA tracker is showing early June right now.

Just got a MPX and would like to SBR it. Does that mean I need rods that are 5" longer than stock to make it to 29" OAL? Has anyone done this with longer rods and if so, would they share how long the rods would need to be to hit 29"?

    Thanks!

Update: I spoke (via email) with Guy@ titleiiarms.com. He confirms that he is aware of the MD 29" OAL requirement and the rods need to be 5" longer than stock to be compliant.

He is making me a set right now! :)
