Dang, approved 2 weeks ago and you had to call to find out yourself? I guess it's not that big of a deal when you've already been waiting 9 months....

My dealer doesn't know until the stamp shows up. If he has been sitting on the stamp for a week I would be a little miffed.

Some folks have been waiting a few weeks for the stamps to show up after approval... it never ends!!! So yeah, I could have another few weeks for the stamp.

The current recording says call after 8 months pending. Have your serial, name (trust or indiv) and SOT who has it:
    (304) 616-4500

Looks like mine was approved 1 week shy of 8 months.

Honestly, unless you are WAY past your "due date," based on other people who submitted around the same time you did getting theirs back, I kind of thing that it's counter productive to call the ATF. They have publicly stated that all this does is to take time away from examiners who would otherwise be approving Form 1 and Form 4s.

Now, if I started hearing that a whole ton of other people who had submitted a month after me were getting theirs back, I would call just to see if something was wrong with it. But right now, with the crazy rush from 41F just getting processed, I am not going to call just because it's been 6 months and I'm antsy about getting my stamps back.

Yeah I was just curious. Not planning to call. I'm right about there time wise. Should be this month. If I don't hear anything by mid Feb I might think about calling.

I submitted mine for sbr on 6/7. So hopefully soon. Although, I submitted a change of address back on 11/28. I never got a reply to acknowledge the change though. Hopefully that doesn't booger things up for me.

    eForm 1 submitted 6/7/2016
    Approval email today - 1/18/2017

While the new address made it to the approved form, the county listed in line 3d is incorrect. I didn't think to include that in my change of address email to them. But they didn't check that either. The woman I spoke with this morning said her records don't list anything for county. She then transferred me to a specialist. I left him a message and I'm currently awaiting a call.

    To be continued...

I was under the impression that the clerks answering the phones weren't examiners themselves, but clerks meant to answer status checks. All .gov contracts I've worked on were an applicant applies for permission/status/benefits have a dedicated team to answer status checks from applicants/interested parties; I'm not saying all have them, but the government isn't supposed to be a black box. If you can't get status of an application then it's time to call the ombudsman.

You could also make your own and Form 1 it. All said, probably 8-10 months?

Son of a .... I prefer Form 1's anyway. What is the $5 stamp - AOW? Don't answer if I am in the wrong thread for this as I am learning the search function a little better and will get there eventually. Too many hobbies!
    Thanks guys.

The $5 stamp is to TRANSFER an AOW on a Form 4. Making your own AOW on a Form 1 is still $200. :(

Also, if you do the bird's head grip thing you can have a short barrel 590 without any NFA stuff at all.

Called today to check status.... Approved since Jan. 9th
    No stamp yet.

I've seen, from others on this thread, it taking a couple-three weeks from approval to delivery. One reason I don't check on line. I just waits for the calls. It's less painful for me that way. :)

10.5 months and still waiting. More than a month ago the app was returned because the dealer had written my name on the first line of my trusts address. Applicant/trust name couldn't have been more clear. My name was just so the address was clear. Crossed out and sent back immediately. Still no word. The rifle it goes on went back to the manufacturer 7 weeks ago. They keep saying 15 days turnaround. They have no explanation why it hasn't been fixed and returned. Both gladly took my money and neither is offering anything that looks or sounds like customer service.
