Oh, cmon. Banning rifles for 18-20 year olds and "gun violence restraining orders" has been on the Bloomberg and Giffords radar for years. Their strategy is to focus on small winnable bites like background checks and GVROs and make incremental progress. Organized knee jerk campaigns is what the anti gunners have done for years. This was nothing new.

NRA got complacent because they thought they had Trump in the bag. They totally got their shit handed to them IN FLORIDA of all places. Where is our incremental progress? I am not feeling it.

Well, Parkland gave them an opportunity to take a big chomp on the apple. There's nothing like a crisis to exploit. Hopefully they'll choke on it. Figuratively speaking, of course.

Crossing back over from the Senate?!?!

Maybe some of his leaders fed him that ******** line also.

Sounds like they've got the game plan worked out on how to blow smoke out their ass and are now executing it.

Ballot box is just about done in Maryland. Jury box to be opened, but we all know what will be in it...

    I'm taking bets ...

That one of the more prominent supporters of our rights here on MDS will be the first to fall prey to this ill-conceived legislation.

If you thought that the 'engineered' 1A arrests of R&R and DL were an abrogation of constitutional law designed to silence our protected speech, just wait until some gun-hatin' DemocRAT sycophant is 'convinced' that our sidewalk sign waving is a threat, and drops a dime on the anonymous tip line.

    As Rush would say ...

As promised, some pictures of our Joe Six-Pack lobbying effort.

Thanks mightily to MarkGrutz for supplying some screen grabs from his video tonight.

We focused on the Red Flag bill, and these pictures you see are only a portion of the contacts and conversations we had with legislators.

Republican legislators who voted with the Democrats seem to have been caught off-guard by the waves of anger that are washing over them.

Tonight, we had a live audience for our demonstration, thanks to about 1,500 teachers who took over Lawyer's Mall for a very noisy rally. They had mini-cowbells passed out to everyone. All that clanging, when added to the amped-up exhortations through the sound system made for quite a racket, while I attempted to talk to the lawmakers.

I'm confident we had an impact. Yes, there were Senators who professed not to know what the Red Flag bill was about, so we briefed them, and relayed our objections.

Here is some of that sidewalk lobbying going on....

The bottom two pictures are of Republican delegates. I talked to the few that came through because there's a chance that the Red Flag bill would have to return to a joint House/Senate conference committee if the Senate declines to accept the House Red Flag bill without amendments.

Briefly, here's proof that hammering them right up to the finish line is worthwhile. (The Surrender Monkey crap that floats around here needs to stop)

The Campus Gun Free Zone bill was diverted to the House Appropriations Committee at the beginning of the session because there are more Leftist agitators over there. (As a gun bill it belonged in the Judiciary Committee). It passes the committee and the House, then moved to the Senate, where it was voted down because of our vehement objections to gun haters setting traps for C&W permit holders on obscure campus geography and roads.

Well, tonight on the Senate floor, Sen. Brochin tries to resurrect the bill with the idea to hit MD conceal carry holders with a $2000 civil fine, rather than 3 years in jail and loss of firearm rights forever. Nice guy!

To consider what Traitor Brochin wanted there had to be a vote to suspend normal order. He needed 32 votes but only got 28 and the Tricks & Trap Campus Gun Free Zone bill got tossed to the side.

This is why we quote Churchill!

(Thanks to Deep Lurker, who tuned into the audio live broadcast and took notes on this political clusterfcuk tonight).

Were our favorite H of R traders walking by or did they take the tunnel?

The House delegates were on a different schedule tonight than the Senate.

Our Patriot Picket was specifically designed to get in front of the Senators as they consider the Red Flag bill.

The Red Flag bill is designed to harm us on a broad scale so it has most of our attention for the next 48 hours.

Looks like Rack gave a lot of heartburn to our Republican "friends."

Delegate Glass--2nd pic from the bottom--has guts and has shown it.

Frankly, in the last pic with Delegate Krebs, I did not put her on the spot about her vote. I said this Red Flag bill could be coming back her way and our community needs all hands on deck to derail a Tricks & Traps situation.

Does anyone really think people like this care much about a very, very tiny chance of getting in trouble for lying on an application to seize the guns of and render defenseless a pro-2A activist, a police officer, a conservative writer, a victim they want to prey on, or any other person the left hates (about half the country). I mean all they have to be is "interested." "I swear your honor, I'm best buddies with the respondent, have been for years, I pinkie swear, would I lie??"

Glad to see Welder516 and son there tonight.

It is always good to see the Patriots , my son talks about holding signs all week so not sure he will understand why it will be stopping in a week or so .

We will then start walking the B & A trail after session ends . to get our Father/Son time in .

objections to gun haters setting traps for C&W permit holders on obscure campus geography and roads.

A strategy that has worked soundly in any year that this has come up for the last decade or so because it's based on simple logic.

I talked to Rep. Susan Krebs for 30 minutes about this and other things after work. The Rs are between a rock and a hard place. Pure politics. Her assertion is HB1302 is 95% good. But, I pressed her on the petition to the court. She made clear that the filer has more to do than just complain. Hb888 was more politics of do something that dems can use against Hogan and the Rs.
    I did yesterday as well.

Per Krebs, if Deb Ray did not vote for HB 888, she would have lost the election. Same for Szlegia. She implied that for her and Rose (on HB 888).

She gave me the same story on HB 1302. Kept repeating Dylan Roof, Dylan Roof. Also got the 99% NRA A+ tome.

Seems Haven Shoemaker had no trouble voting NO.

Spoke with Ready's office, and I saw he was the mensch he always is, and voted to save freedom. We live near his dad, and a finer family you will NEVER meet.

Off now to slug down a bunch of Bourbon. :sad20:

Behold why these critters are dead to me. They placed politics, party, and their ride on the gravy train above their duty as public servants. They cast aside principles deeply held by us, because they cherish them only so far as it is politically expedient. I expect liberals to vote against basic freedoms because they're almost exclusively either idiots or reptiles. Supposed conservatives doing this is simply betrayal.

They abandoned us at exactly the time they should have stepped into the void and said "NO! Come what may." Pissing on our collective legs about losing elections is utter nonsense. If they represent a conservative district, and pretend themselves to be conservative, they shouldn't be worried about casting conservative votes. Even if they are to the right of Ted Nugent and somehow came to be elected in Montgomery County, they should STILL vote for freedom.

They've crossed a line here. But I'm not telling you anything you don't already know and feel in your bones, much as many reading this.
