GUN-CONTROL BILLS KILLED TODAY
Bob Sadtler and I attended a Senate Finance subcommittee meeting and then a full committee meeting starting this morning at 7:30 (ugh).
The good news and what made that early morning meeting worthwhile is that 3 gun-control bills were killed due to lack of finances:
* SB 1, Senator Ebbin, bump-stock ban is gone for the year
* SB 79, Senator Lucas, makes child daycare/preschool gun-free zones, the same as a K-12 school, was DEFEATED
* SB 797, Howell, added another type of protection order that would take away a person's guns was DEFEATED
ATTEMPT TO BAN GUNS IN THE HOUSE GALLERY DEFEATED 51 TO 49
On Tuesday, Delegate Kathleen Murphy, no friend to gun owners, attempted to change the rules in the House to ban guns in the gallery, which overlooks the House Floor. Delegates Ben Cline and Todd Gilbert defended gun owners in the ensuing debate. Murphy's motion was defeated by a narrow 51-to-49 party-line vote.
