We're getting loaded up now and try the afternoon hunt...they seem to be moving more at night.

we really need some colder weather!

Resident Geese fly regardless of the temps. It is warm, but, they don't mind. If it ever rains, they don't mind either. You gotta go to play the game, otherwise you're just a "fair weather" hunter. Get out there.

i cant wait till the late season starts. we got the farmer to leave us some standing corn in the field for us this year to help us hide our layout blinds a bit better. maybe we can get some bands this year. only one in the last 4 years and we have laid them down.

I sat in the field this morning. The geese don't care about calls, decoys, or us setting wide open in the middle of the field. They appear to be deaf and blind.

FIRST GOOSE DOWN AT 10:15AM. I HAD A TOTAL OF ABOUT 150 GEESE COME IN THIS MORNING, BUT, ONE MAN CAN'T COVER THE WHOLE FIELD. MY HUNTING BUDDIES HAD TO BAIL ON ME THIS MORNING, BUT, I GOT LUCKY THOUGH AS SOME WERE LEAVING.

I SHOT HEAD-ON AND HAD TO LEAN HARD LEFT SO I DIDN'T GET SMACKED IN THE HEAD BY THIS BIRD. EXCELLENT HUNT THOUGH. DAMN BIRD TRIED TO KNOCK ME OFF MY MILK CRATE.

    HUNT NOTES:

    1) NO DECOYS
    2) NO CALL
    3) FULL CHOKE
    4) 3" 12 GA STEEL
    5) HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT OUT THERE !
    6) MOSSBERG 12 GAUGE
    7) GROUND BLIND WAS JUST ALL GRASS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD.
    8) 30 YARD, HEAD-ON, SHOT.

    NEW VIDEO - GOOSE #2 DOWN !

Here's video from this mornings hunt. I sure like to make them birds land close to me. I'm trying to get one to land right in my pocket. I'm getting closer. This is sort of funny to watch:
