It provides a much better view of the adapter.
So this + a 5.56 upper + a CMMG 22lr upper and you have a complete semi-auto package for everything from plinking to hunting to some kinds of competitions. All for around 3K not including optics, less if you already have the other uppers. That's pretty amazing as long as Colt keeps the mfg tight.

I talked to a Colt LE distributor today. He said they will not take orders until the guns become available, but I would be looking at a price of around $1850.

This should be about right. ^^^^^
The FDE is planned for later this year, as well as a digital and a woodland camo version. The first rifles will be standard black anodized however and that's going to be it for a while.
