I thought these were interesting, maybe you will too.
The older Maryland license were made out of a thick material, not paper.
The 1938 Pennsylvania license is metal.

I've kept all of my old hunting licenses and guides that would come with it. It's amazing how the bag limits have changed. When I first started in 1967 as a 10 yr. old kid firearm deer season was one week only and one buck only, no does. You better had not get caught taking a doe, your rifle would be taken from you by DNR/Police/Game Warden. Nice collection you have there. MD would change the color each year and you had to wear the tag exposed on your back or they would get you for that. Now you don't have to wear it on your back but you must have it with you.

I knew a guy who collected them. He never hunted but collected old licenses. He said there was quite a demand for them but they only brought reasonable money, $10-20 back then. He said one of the most sought after ones were the ones issued as a complimentary license. He said MD and PA only issued about 10 a year.
I have my original hunter safety card from 1973 No. 822, before it was mandatory.

Cool stuff!! I have all my old licenses, and original hunter safety card from Virginia that I took in high school health class. Also all my duck stamps.

Always thought I'd tried to find a way to display them, but never have.

While I like the convince on the new licenses (just get them online), I miss getting issued an old license, in its compact form.
