They have a reloading kit for reloading .22 rimfire.

With the kit, a pound of powder, two packages of their primer mix, and some scrap lead, you can load 6000 rounds.

didn't someone show how to take 22 blanks from Home depot and 22 pellets from pellet guns and reload them?
22 blanks are not cheap though. This ammo shortage is a lesson to "when its cheap, stack it deep"

I looked into this a while ago. The issue is that youll likely only get bulk ammo accuracy. Its great if you have the components and just want to burn through them for plinking but itll likely be less accurate vs match ammo.

Since the design .22 rimfire ammo makes it very inconsistent even within lots by the same manufacturer, reloading it should only be considered in dire circumstances, IMO.

The same company also produces a conversion kit for Berdan primed cases to use Boxer primers.

I don't remember the formula we used but we made contact explosive in the chem lab in high school. It was perchlorate based and we would coat a piece of filter paper and stick it on a door hinge. When someone opened the door, the CE went off and scared the bejeusus out of him. (it was an all male school)

As for making .22 rimfire, the primer is the easy part. Crimping the projectile is where it becomes a chore.

The idea, that this kit, with some of their priming compound kits would be a good addition.

For the cost of a few bricks, you have the kit.

For a few more bricks, you can reload 6000 rounds.

Good enough to harvest some tree rats for stew. :D

I am about to drop the hammer (pardon the pun) on a .38 RF and maybe a .41 RF reloading kit... those rounds are becoming unobtanium. If you can find a box of shootabIe ammo, it can run $200 a box. I would also get a .32 RF kit, but I have plenty of that ammo on hand as I have been stocking it away for a couple of decades. Those kits are expensive, but I like taking the old girls out for a walk every once on a while. I think it will be a long time before .22s get to that point.

And as I'm learning...I thought I was stacking deep and have found that the correct amount to stockpile is "more"

Very hopeful that availability and prices come down a bit for at least a while before SHTF.
