Is there a thread about the rules of pistols? Can't find one...the erwos SB281 FAQ thread had some strange commentary on pistols.

Max barrel length for a MD pistol? I know that the ballistics on 11.5 are better than that of 10.5. Are any 11.5s legal as a MD pistol? Or maybe OLA is what governs.

Also, it seems like I see every AR upper under the sun but I thought pistols had to be on a roster or something. Especially as it relates to ak's.

Basically, I'm trying to find the longest barrel / highest quality AK I can configure legally as a pistol in MD.

AFAIK, No max or minimum barrel length for pistols. The deal with pistols is, if it has a bbl shorter than 16'', it either has to be a pistol or SBR. If you buy a ''pistol'' already built, you need an HQL in Md. If you build an AR pistol(or AK pistol for that matter), or any 80% pistol, you don't need an HQL. No roster for a 'homegrown' pistol. IANAL

No need for a case...just holster it!

I'm not sure I own a belt that would hold this up though.

I mostly use a backpack for the 7.5 and a Midway discreet case for the 10.5-11.5". The rectangular cases don't scream rifle case as much as some others.

I have the 36" Plano All Weather Gun Case. The pre-cut foam squares allow you to customize the fit to your gun as well as any other accessories. Amazon has them for $61 now but they go on sale periodically for less.

I think the holster is a bit much.....lol mine has a single point sling. Ease of use when your tall is important.

Thank You, I am very happy with it. I have swapped out the standard buffer with an H3 Buffer for the added weight and added $2.25 in Quarters to the buffer tube to shorten the bolt travel. I was unaware of the possibility of breaking the bolt stop.

Time to take it back to the range and see if the recoil impulse is a little more comfortable. I can say I was surprised with the amount of recoil from this pistol.
