The rest of the conversation is what is the purpose of the vehicular firearm & does it have a higher purpose than simply not being stolen ? Choices include :

    1. Being equipped for target shooting/ hunting.

    2. For when islamic terrorists/ psyco nut jobs give you a timeout to go to the parking lot.

    3. For when your wife or daughter has just been forced off the ( dark, isolated, country ) road by a rapist/ carjacker, and they need an equalizer Right Now.

To further adress R&R's point above ; In a situation like #3 , a hammerless coachgun w/o automatic safety can go from empty to Boom-Boom faster than stuffing shells into a PGO pump.

My thing is always having at least one gun for goose hunting / clays.

Back up gun if something goes wrong with mine or a buddy's, etc.

The other stuff sounds exciting enough, but, reality is the shotgun (for me) is a tool, not so much thought of as a self defense gun.
